The page position of every grid label (in PDF points) is paired with its printed easting or northing, and a least-squares linear fit per axis converts page points to metres.  Vector linework is read directly from the PDF drawing commands (no raster tracing), transformed to UTM, clipped to the map frame, and converted to WGS 84 with pyproj (EPSG:26909 to EPSG:4326).",
